News
- 2/1/04 - First Scottish Peak conquered!
- An ASL from 10th Harpenden has conquered the first Scottish peak. Ben
More, the highest point in Central at 1174m, was conquered during
Hertfordshire Scouts Advanced Mountaineering Course run at
Lochearnhead Scout Station.
- 1/12/03 - Everest Extended!
- Everest has been extended again - indefinitely! So, there's still time to
go and bag those peaks - there are plenty still left to do. Have
you done one yet?
- 20/10/03 - 100 man-peaks reached!
- Another milestone reached - we have now amassed over 100 "man-peaks"!
- 1/10/03 - 20 peaks conquered!
- Twenty peaks have now been conquered, from Snowdon (Gwynedd, 1085m) to
Beacon Hill (Norfolk, 102m). But, there are still plenty more to
get before the end of the year!
- 25/5/03 - First peaks conquered!
- The first peaks to be conquered were Dunstable Downs (Bedfordshire) and
Snowdon (Gwynedd), on 25th May. Here are some
photos. The bug which made
these unviewable for some IE users has now been fixed
- 8/5/03 - Encouragement
- A message of encouragement has
been received from Mike Westmacott, who was one of the 1953 Everest
Expedition who came from Harpenden.
- 17/5/03 - Web site improvements
- The Background,
Instructions, and
Safety Guidelines have now been
added to the web site - we're looking forward to the first reports
of completed peaks!
- 1/3/03 - Everest Extended!
- After a meeting of the district team, Everest Gold has been extended, so
you now have more time to bag those peaks! Everest Gold will now run
from 24th May until the end of December - so get planning! Which top
will you conquer?
